DETConnect has been created for the department's training partners, including:

  • schools
  • training providers
  • group training organisations
  • community organisations
  • industry training advisory bodies
  • industry associations
  • Australian Apprenticeship Centres.

This secure site connects partners with DET services, including:

Apprenticeships Info - Self Service - giving apprenticeship centres a quick and effective way to obtain credit for previous service and to check that an apprentice/trainee has no previous outstanding contracts.

AVETMISS Training Activity - a facility for Registered Training Organisations to electronically lodge AVETMISS data submissions, access validation error reports, and view submitted NAT file data.

RTO (Registered Training Organisation) Registration - allowing training organisations to apply for, and manage, their registration electronically.

Training Downloads - provides daily updates from a number of departmental databases to a wide range of public and private sector partners and customers of the department - including Australian Apprenticeship Centres and Registered Training Organisations. A snapshot report provides the available records - for example the active training contracts, and a changes report provides details about the changes made to the records.

Why do I have to log in to DETConnect?

DETConnect is a secure site which provides critical, often confidential, information to the department's partner organisations.

To enter DETConnect you will need a user account (user ID and password). To obtain a user account your organisation will need to register. You will find the link to the registration form in the Log in box, at the top right of this page.

During the registration process your organisation will assign an administrator, who will be given the authority to assign individual DETConnect user IDs within your organisation. This initial registration process means your organisation can have as many individual user accounts as needed, without having to go through the full registration procedure each time a new user is added. The administrator your organisation assigns will be able to Log in to DETConnect and add new user accounts as required.
